The Burtnieki stud farm is the oldest and largest in Latvia, which has been operating for more than 70 years. Currently, about 200 horses are grazing in a farm. Many horse-drawn horses have been born and raised here, among them Olympic medalists. Individual travelers and groups can apply for horseback riding tours and try out riding skills in outdoor conditions or in riding, or riding in a cart, or in winter with sledges. Excursionists with the old traditions of horse breeding can be found at the adjoining 19th century. Briede's pub, where there is a horse-breeding museum.
