About us

Latvian Blind Library provides free librarian, bibliographic and informational services to persons who are blind, visually impaired or have other reading difficulties. In the library for the blind in Riga and its branch libraries in Balvo, Cēsis, Daugavpils, Jelgava, Liepāja, Rēzekne and Ventspils, books are available to readers in sighted writing, as well as adapted literature - audio books, books in Braille and enlarged print. There are opportunities to use computers with specialized equipment for visually impaired and blind people, magnifying devices for visually impaired readers, wireless Internet, scanning, printing and copying services. The typhology cabinet has accumulated historical materials on the life, activities and achievements of the blind, typhology, typhology, social problems, issues of social care and rehabilitation.

To whom customized audiobooks can be issued?

Latvian Library for the Blind serves everyone who has difficulty or is unable to read ordinary printed text. Our readers are blind and partially sighted people, as well as people with other reading difficulties( incl.. seniors, people with dyslexia, etc) and with physical disabilities mentioned in Article 22 of the Copyright Law( 1) . in Article.
