About the institution

State capital company "Rīgas psihiatrijas un narkoloģijas centrs" was founded in September. 21,. 1824. It is the largest psychiatric and narcological treatment institution in Latvia and the oldest in the Baltic States, which still operates by providing psychiatric and narcological assistance. During the year, an average of 7,000 patients receive inpatient treatment at the Riga Psychiatry and Narcology Center, while the number of outpatient visits is an average of 80,000.

Psychiatric help

• OUTPATIENT TREATMENT. Doctor-psychiatrist consultations and treatment in cases of mental health disorders without the need to hospitalize the patient for treatment.
• INPATIENT TREATMENT. Necessary if treatment cannot be provided on an outpatient basis. For example, in acute psychotic conditions, in patients with major depression resulting in self-threatening( autoaggression) or aggression against others, as well as other organic diseases of the central nervous system.
• COURT EXPERTISE. Procedural action, which is performed by one or more court experts following the decision of the prosecutor in a criminal case or a civil case, and the content of which is the study of objects submitted for expertise in order to clarify facts and circumstances important to the process, an expert's opinion is provided on this.

Narcological aid

• OUTPATIENT TREATMENT. Consultations of narcologists, diagnosis of the disease of addiction, development of a treatment plan and treatment of persons with alcohol, narcotic and psychotropic substances, tobacco, gambling and new technology addiction and overuse problems, without the need to hospitalize the patient for treatment
