Jānis Norvilis` Music school has been offering unique music education since 1945. annual. 2018./2019. in the school year, 297 students start studying at the Jānis Norvilis` Music school of Madona. 33 teachers, 6 technical staff work in the school. The school pays a lot of attention to forms of collective music making. At the moment, the school actively operates a choir, a chamber orchestra, a brass band, a brass band studio, kokles ensembles, an accordion ensemble, a saxophone quartet, two string trios, and a violinist ensemble. The acoustics of the new school's concert hall have been recognized as first-class and are popular with national artists looking for opportunities to perform there. This not only creates an opportunity for the music school collective to listen to the music of professional artists, creating an opportunity for students to gain vivid artistic impressions, for teachers to raise their professional qualifications, but also for the children's parents and the city's society, it creates access to high cultural values, thus making the city of Madona one of the active centers of the country's musical life.
